Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council/ Rabita Society
A brief Introduction:
Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council is federal platform representing 10 jamats(associations) of Bhatkal Muslims community residing in 6 countries of GCC. This was setup in the year 1991 in the holy city of Mina in KSA with the primary objective of :

• Supporting and strengthening our member jamats in pursuit of their objectives of well being and helping their members in the countries of their residence
• Strengthening and supporting our central organisations in our native land Bhatkal serving our communities in various fields of social, educational, political hemispheres.
• Provide social and financial relief in the event natural calamities, social disturbances, and other eventualities.
• Promote and raise literacy and education standards in the community.
• Liaise with government departments and provide support to local organisations in Bhatkal for all civil and political issues.
• To work with other communities for communal harmony and peaceful coexistence of all communities in Bhatkal and around.

Rabita Society is registered arm of BMKC in Bhatkal representing all the NRIs for coordinating services of BMKC and providing a place to pool and mobilise our resources and provide all the services efficiently. Some of the services provided by Rabita Society are:

• Tempo Service for the people of Bhatkal providing an economical and affordable commuting facilities around Bhatkal for common persons at heavily subsidised rates in an attempt to thwart the unruly and immoral behaviour of auto drivers.
• Business support to small scale businesses impacted by civil disturbances and natural calamities.
• Ambulance services with portable mortuary for long transport of dead bodies.
• Rabita clinic providing basic clinical services with specialist doctors at subsidised costs.
• Coaching classes to academically weaker students of secondary and higher secondary classes.
• Support of civil bodies in the cleaning filtration plant, waste disposal, setup of new mortuary in Taluka hospital etc.
• Kannada languages crash courses.
• Basic tailoring courses for ladies.
• Organising supply of clean drinking water during summer season when water wells go dry.
• Supplied ration kits to local and adjacent surrounding populations during Covid era.
• Lastly our signature event Rabita Award which has been consistently conducted since last 30 years honoring the top performers in various level of education from secondary education to graduation and post graduation awarding pure gold medals to achievers.
